Default NGK plugs in late model GM motors?

Did GM for some reason use NGK plugs in some of their newer motors? When I pulled the heads off my 6.0 it had NGK Iridiums in it. I didnt think anybody would change plugs at 30K miles. But I just wondered. I meant to post this a while back but I forgot about it.

I'm not 100% sure. I just know for a fact that a lot of the GM trucks and cars started coming with NGK plugs. They were basically the same though in that I read that AC Delco just relabled the NGK plug in the first place?

Not sure whats in my '03 but the Owner's Manual has part #s for both AC Delco 41-974 and NKG plugs PZTR5A15. So some version of the TR5 plugs.
