Default Newly Installed LLP Headers Rub Steering Shaft!

Got a good deal on a set of LLP headers from a fellow member and I got them installed only to find that the driver side header rubs the steering shaft. Also, this is after I had to completely modify every piece of the Y-pipe in order for it to not rub on the frame! Anyways, what are my options for the steering shaft clearance issues? Am I gonna have to hammer/dent the primary that rubs?

Two things come to mind. #1) Possibly worn out/sagging motor mounts. #2) Low cost/mass produced/made overseas(low Q/C) headers often need lightly modified with a hammer and/or prybar to make them fit at all.

its a guy I know, who had the same problem, even after replacing it with NEW motor mounts.. He even had to bang primary 1 to a flat spot... I think LPP may have a bad batch going on here, IDK.

I never had problems, but from my pics, you can see how close my clearance is. I can slide my car keys between my shaft and the header. it is close.

Thanks for the input guys. I used the old hammer trick and got it fixed! Made a flat spot on the problem primary and no more rubbing.

Tried it, LPP said they are all made on the same template so if they sent a new set, it would still rub. Didn't try a refund but I got the feeling they would be resistant.
