Default nnbs 4.8 comp?'s

I have been searching but have come up empty. A couple of questions. Does the piston come out of the block on TDC? If so how much?

Im kicking around the idea of raising the compression on the little 4.8. Thinking about going with a .030 head gasket and milling the heads. I would like to get the compression to around 10.5. Not to worried about PTV issues. Cam is a 218/222@.50 .530/.567 lift.

Any thoughts please.

Typically on LS style engines, I have seen that the pistons stick out of the hole .006-.008"

Thats what I am thinking but cant find anything to back it. If it is out of the hole then the .030 gasket will but the quench a little closer then I care to be.

How are things going in Michigan?

Compression usually adds torque .Im sure a small shot of Nitrous would wake your truck right up to where you want to be
