Default New VHO 1/4 mile time

New best time from TRP last night, add 16c and 21c to mods list:
R/T .915
60' 2.174
330' 6.040
1/8 9.254
MPH 77.08
1000' 11.996
1/4 14.350
MPH 94.98

I guess the temps hurt some. Previous best was 14.409, removed back seat and spare tire and did the TB bypass. The weight reduction killed my traction on the street, but the truck hooked really well at the track (2.17 60'). Temps were around 80 with high humidity. Maybe the weight reduction was only worth .06, but was hoping for more (of course). Go ahead and laugh at my R/T, used to the amber "1,2,3,green", TRP was using the instant green (no ambers at all) and I was "lost".

So goshawk23, I got ya (you still have almost 2mph on me though).

Your truck keeps getting quicker. Great time! How many miles you got on it now? Where did you get your Xcelerator exhaust?

Great times! I think you can get more out of it than .06 for the weight reduction. Those weight reductions netted me almost 3 tenths.

I ran 14.30 @ 95.83 mph at HRP this past weekend with the spare, tailgate, and backseat removed. Spun on every launch. One time it was so bad I just stayed in it and left a 100' long smoke cloud. I'm still scraping rubber off the truck from that smooth move.

I know what you are saying about the lights. They hit us with the pro tree a couple of times and it scared the hell outta me.

Great times guys. I hate your VHO's though. Man, it has taken me all the mods in my sig to get my crew cab 5.3 to the 14.2 mark out at HRP. That was with the tailgate off only though. I have done some weight reduction (removed the rear bumper in place of a roll pan, and removed the spare and will be taking off the tailgate next time. Also will be running my ET Streets on the next time too. Hoping for 13's next time I run.

I know, those instant greens mess with my reaction times too.

Native, next time you make it HRP, let us know, we'll try and get a group of the truck guys out there to meet with ya.

16k miles on the clock (and already pricing a new set of tires, love it!). The xcelerator exhaust was installed by Jody's Muffler in Ft. Smith, AR. You will like it when you hear it, the install "looks" great to me (can't see the tail pipes at all). I headed up there on spur of the moment, didn't know how to contact you w/o a computer we WILL cross paths up there sometime and compare notes.

nativetexan-can't remember how many names I called myself under my breath while cleaning the rubber/track bite/??? off my truck (dumba$$ seemed to be the moniker of choice).

sierracrew-don't hate the player, hate the game Doesn't matter how it came about, you would still spank my VHO if we met up today. Everybody is clamoring for a RCSB hot rod, I would love it if Chevy would make a CC VHO! The grass is always greener....

Does the factory exhaust flanges have to be cut that are before the muffler?
Who makes the Xcelerator exhaust? I've never heard of it.
If the Xcelerator cat back exhaust system will bolt up to the 2 factory exhaust flanges with no mods, then I will consider it. No fabricating will be done on this truck. I only want a mendral bent cat-back system. Is the Xcelerator system all mendral bent?
If you or someone has any pics of the system installed I would like to see it.
I havent heard of anyone making a direct bolt on cat back system for the VHO's that doesn't need to be modified.
Maybe the exhaust will help out my MPH in the 1/4.
I can't break over 93mph as of yet. I see that you guys have. I wonder if the 1 more mph in the 1/4 mile has to do with the cat-back system.
My 1/4 seems to be right there with you guys though.

Hey standby. Would you mind sending me some pics of you modified air box as well? I've heard the Volant CAI systems hurt these trucks. If that's the case, I will be throwing back on a modified factory air box with a K&N air filter.
