Default New type of locking header bolt

I put TOG's on my Av and was looking for some locking header bolts. I used the Stage 8 bolts on my last truck but they won't work on the Av - there's nothing for the "keys" to lock against.

I found what appears to be a slick solution:

http://www.go-breslin.com/

I had the bolts on order for about 4-1/2 months. According to the owner, they were swamped with orders for the "old" engines with SAE threads. The new engines have metric threads so they put off manufacturing them until meeting most of the demand for the masses. Makes sense, but it didn't make my frustration any less!

I found information on the Breslin bolts in Super Chevy magazine, thought they looked like a really good idea, and ordered them. I waited about 1-1/2 months before installing my TOG's, wanted the bolts for the original install. I got tired of waiting and installed the TOG's with the stock bolts. I retorqued the stock bolts after about three weeks. When removing the stock bolts to install the Breslin bolts, I found that 3 of the 12 bolts had backed off significantly (not totally loose) after about a month.

I've had the Breslin bolts installed for about a month now, they don't appear to be backing off any. They are not cheap but I hate messing with constantly retorquing header bolts! I bought the stainless ones, they were $69 delivered.

I didn't have a problem with them backing off on my black truck, and don't have a problem with them so far on the new one ..

I don't see how people are having such a hard time with header bolts.

Those things are slick!

Never had any issues with my stock bolts. But I could see other uses for those.

Why didn't I think of that.

Those things look awesome and are probably ALOT easier to use then the old type locking bolts.

I haven't had any problems outta the FLP bolts though yet to justify getting lockers.

I've never had a problem with 12pt ARP's I've used in the past. I use just a slight dab of blue Lok-Tite and torque them to spec...never had a back out in two years!

Those look like I product I have seen a while ago. I think they were on TV somewhere...look nice to me.

I had Stage 8 locking bolts on mine but it was such a hassle to take the clips off the get to the bolts, so I trashed the clips and retainers. All I really wanted was the grade 8 bolts that are guaranteed not to break like the stock bolts often do. I don't know how TOGs are built, but my retainers would lock directly to the header flanges and pipes.
