Default New Times for the Z71 w/226 cam

I have been using the G-timer to track my progress with regards to the "new" cam and the tuning I had my buddy at Synergy Motorsports do. The Timer has been pretty damned accurate but I thought maybe it was starting to give me false readings when i said i was running 14.2-14.4@95-97mph so I took it out to the track tonight to see what it would do before the turbo goes on next week.

First run:
60': 2.091
ET: 14.42
MPH: 96.0

3rd run
60': 2.053
ET: 14.32
MPH: 96.9

4th run................... Best
60': 2.044
ET: 14.293
MPH: 96.8

All in all I am decently impressed with the setup. It's not the best and I'm sure it could be put on a dyno and tuned for more HP (we just street tuned it for drivability) but not too bad IMO

Thx man.

I don't have the G-Tech I have the G-Timer from Escort. It is very similar and works pretty damned well.

Last time I tested the unit at the track was with my Z06 cam. It was .7mph high and .12 tenths faster than the actualy track. I was told by the manufacture that to get it as accurate as possible you would have to deep stage at the track which brings you closer to the beam and means you have to travel less diatnce forward before your time starts. The G-Timer works on instant motion so you can see how they would differ a tad bit. But hell 1 tenth and 1mph is accurate enough for me for testing purposes

Very nice! I think I'm gonna do some gears in my Z71 here...after all I must wait until August to order the Dmax. I'll prolly do 4.56:1 F/R that's about 2300rpm @ 70mph only with 33" tires.

Hitman,

I was gonna do 4.56s also so I could stick my 33" tires back on to look cooler. But with the Turbo I wont need tall gears so it is kinda saving me money in an *** backwards way than just doing heads and nitrous LOL...

If you put em in lemme know how it goes. I was quoted $1500 or so to do both sets of gears.

Yup, you need taller gears for a turbo...they are load dependant!

LOL@Jim

yeah I think I was still running 15.9 that day and complaining about how my 33" tires were robbing my of HP LMAO!

It is indeed stronger but still falls on it's face sometimes. Liek twice last night something weird happended and it's like it didn't want to come out of 4wd or something and it wouldnt rev over 3200rpm so I just drove it out to a 20sec and 18sec 1/4mile (I made sure to throw it in neutral and rev it a few times and such so people knew something was wrong lol )

The turbo is going on next week through mate so I'm afraid your Hemi will be simply outclassed before we can get a friendly grudge match going. Unless you wanna spray yours!!! I have a wet kit sitting right here if you wanna play with it Hehehe

Nitrous? Sure! Oh yeah, can I move in with you when my wife divorces me? LOL! We can still hook up at the track but I'm afraid you may have to give me a small head start, say an 1/8 mile.
