Welcome! I would like to direct you to the list of vendor links to the right. Nitrous Direct grabs my attention right off the bat. It is cheap, fun, and safe if installed by competent individuals.

Oh yeah, I am a too!

Put the screen back in the MAF and get a custom tune You can mod your air intake fairly cheaply, and replace the factory muffler with something like a Magnaflow or Hooker...that should just about spend your $800 depending on who you choose for the tune...

My favorite bolt on I did was my LS1 fans. Picked up about 2/10's in th e1/4 and 2-3 MPG for about $150. I got a mail order tune from wait4meperformance $150. Then you got $500 left for a used N2O system, or if you really want to get into it (you will soon enough anyway) you can get a Torque conver to go with the cam you will be getting soon enough.

You came to the right place. Read a lot before making purchases. The advise on this board has saved me a ton, from doing things right the first time.

IE. not getting Hypertech (actually picked one up cheap and sold for more) it slowed me down with the tune in, faster with just the shift points and rev limiter
not going with a flowmaster. Thats all I ever had before, and could tell a difference with the Magnaflow.
Several other tips I picked up, and things I decided NOT to do.

I'd buy a used Z06 cam, springs, a Trailblazer torque converter, and a tune. That is... assuming you can do the install yourself for free.

definitly cut the stock muffler off and weld something better in its place

Guys (& possibly gals)...

Let's help a bit further... where can long tube headers be purchased, and not rape his budget for all it's worth? Inquiring minds want to know.

Ceramics would be better for look & durability, and painted are aiight, but I'm sure they'll fade over time. Help a newbie out. Gotta make the 5.3s dig some concrete!
