Got it from a shop locally, I think they sell them on ebay. I painted it with some red high temp engine enamel, and gave the filter a good spraying with the K&N oil...for all the different opinions and results I have read about filters and tubes, aftermarket vs. stock... I couldn't bring myself to dumping $200-$300 for a name brand...

Thanks! Well, I took the truck out for a 30 mile round trip and there's definitely some SOTP difference, and it makes a cool "SWOOSH" sound when you mash the skinny pedal! INstalled one on my brother-in-laws too! We also did a little cold air induction from the hole on the lower valance where the tow hook is mounted to the new intake box...tested it with a fan and man, does the air get up there...sould be good for somthing...I know, I know I'm gunna hear "ya dude, good for dust, dirt, bugs and man wait til it rains and you get a big gulp of water in there...blah blah blah" Well, I don't have much of those things to worry about, I live in SoCal...where we pay BIG $$$$$$$ to live here and avoid most of those unpleasent acts of nature...SO, the moral of the story is "Cold air induction tubing crap works real good in So Cal cuz we don't have a lot of bugs..or rain..." Make sense???

I usually "lightly" oil the filter, let it sit, then dab it with a paper towel to pick up the excess...Hopefully that will keep the MAF f'ing oil in check.

I don't know what brand the filter is...The set up is the same one they sell on ebay for $39.99 + $18.00 shipping...I really like it though, especially for the money...

the filter looks like one of the Auto Zone specials. I have one laying around the same color and everything. The matching color does look pretty good too. BTW, the fiter i was talking about is $24.
