Default New 04 Silverado 1500 - Breathing advice.

Just bought a new truck and plan to drive alot of highway miles on it.

I'm hungry for your advice and suggestions and thoughts on

Intake systems, mass air flow sensors, throttle spacers, headers (aftermarket/stock)
cat back systems (single pipe) and true dual conversions.

4.3l v6

looking to improve, tell me what you think!

welcome matt!, dont descreen your maf! get a good intake-K+N, true flow, or others. Then get a good custom tune, Dont waste your time on hand held tuners, do a cooler T-stat. these mods will help ya feel the power! I would do a magnaflow exhaust or dynomax, dont waste money on a throttle body spacer.

Intake System: Volant or a homemade one
MAF sensor: From what I hear, it's not worth buying just keep the stock one
Throttle Body Spacer: Doesn't really do anything, unless you want the whistle
Headers: Don't know alot about 4.3's...JBA maybe?
Cat-Back Systems: Hmm, again I don't know alot about it...Gibson?
Hope this helps.

Intake System: Homemade is the best way to go, but the AirRaid and AEM units are good cheap systems that'll get you what you need!
MAF: LEAVE IT ALONE! The stock units are good for 500+ horsepower and do not restrict airflow very much at all.
Throttle Body Spacer: The biggest waste of $100 on any vehicle in my opinion.
Headers: Anything longtube, I wouldn't spend money on shorties unless that's all you can find.
Cat-back: For the money the Hooker and Magnaflow systems are good, but I would just put a muffler in place with a different outgoing tailpipe setup, our stock exhaust piping is close to 3" and flows really well!
