Default Need some info.

Ok well all know "or should" that putting a ls1 motor in our trucks is a easy swap. But I have a question has anyone put a vette or camaro pcm in? I am useing my 5.3 pcm and a dyno shop told me that there are peramiters that are different between the two? I'm wondering if it's going to be a big deal if I just get my stock pcm tuned. or should I go with the vette or camaro pcm.

Thanks guys

There's no difference in the pcm's as far as I know. The only difference would be programming...i.e. electric fans, cags, t56....

Get your truck pcm tuned and you will be fine.

I agree, tune the 5.3 computer. One possibility is finding a good Vette/Camaro tuner in your area. This is what I am planning to do in a month or so when the 5.7 "iron" block motor is ready.

Use your stock PCM and get it tuned, I used my stock 4.8 PCM and had Nelson tune it and it works fine.

Sounds like he's just boring out the 4.8/5.3 block to 5.7 specs.

The source code if diffrent, thats it. You can make a truck pcm do anything that an f car or y car pcm can do.

I have the truck software from 01 up. Its as easy as anything to tune.

Brian How much is it for a dyno tune? I'm about 45 minutes from you.
