Default 315 rwhp 331 tq Tahoe

Pulled down the top end to change out some noisy lifters. Added ASM headers, ASP pulley, FMS custom y-pipe, put stock cats back on. While we had the heads off had them milled .010, replaced Comp 918 springs with the Comp 921 kit, did a valve job and replaced head gaskets with '02 gaskets. Through the cats and exhaust, with the 20's and converter unlocked made 315rwhp/331tq in 3rd. As a reference 2nd gear pull was 295rwhp/300tq.. Prior dyno numbers with no cats in 2nd were 261rwhp/278tq.

Runs much better, sounds sweet, pulls like a ****

Next mods: port and polish throttle body, cold air induction (still have stock tube and airbox)

Going to put the stock 16" rims and tires back on to see what difference the 20's make on the dyno.

Going to the track Wednesday night, hopefully with some better times.

Nice numbers. Thats a good comparison between 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. I couldn't ever get a good 3rd gear pull in my 99 Z71, so the best I ended up with was 295/305.

ranwalk - You know we tested a stock truck and just adding the ASP pulley picked up 9 rwhp

Bigtex - Yeah I posted that because most people on dyno in 2nd... We couldnt get a good 3rd gear pull the last time had it on the dyno because Allan hadnt removed the speed limiter yet.

Jason99/TA - No kidding but Im just glad Allan did something to my vehicle, I was impressed... He usually spends his free mod time on 1 of his projects.

BigKid - Yep its still the same cam we put in for the supercharger but havent put that on yet, decided to take a different route

Wow, over 50 rwhp!!?? Thats awesome. Im a little hesitant about having anyone touch my truck, but if I can find someone good around here I may need some specifics as to what you did exactly on the heads and maybe what type of cam to go with. Was that gain mostly up top or throughout the entire rpm range? Have you done anything to strengthen the tranny or are you just going to wait and see what happens??

Wow, those are some good gains, is there any chance we can get a video or sound clip of it in action?
