Just in case anyone was following this thread, here’s the latest. I have a flex fuel 5.3L Tahoe. I guess it can run on methanol or something, who cares. Anyway, the radix came with 42lb injectors, wiring clips on my truck would not mate with the injectors in the Radix. Called Brian at Magnuson, was told that on flex fuel engines you have to re-use the stock injectors and forget about the inline fuel pump. We are in the process now of putting the stock injectors into the Radix. Doing this required a few extra parts that were shipped today by Brian from Magnuson (spacers, bolts, etc...) I know he's sick of my phone calls by now
Unfortunately, the Westers tune I got for the radix was set up for the 42lb Radix injectors. So I have to send it back to their TX location, have them adjust the mapping and flow rates and send it back. So I am down for another day or 2.
For you programmers out there I have this question. Lyndon at Westers said I could use my “old” 93 hot tune on the truck with the Radix until the right PCM comes back, just DON’T put it under boost. This makes sense I guess because the “new” tune is adjusted for 42lb injectors, which are not going to be in the truck, and the old tune is set up for the stock injectors. Since I’m redoing the tune anyway, should I give Nelson tuning a call and see how they do? Anybody know the price? I already spent 500 on the Westers, I don’t know if I can bring myself to spend another 500 for a Nelson.
Did I mention that one tuner told me that with the stock (33 or 38lb?) injectors I will run out of injector if I do any more mods? So I can't increase the boost on this radix unless I change to a bigger injector?
