Yeah that is jammed up against and inside the seal, holy ****!!! If you have a long punch or chisel, or even a fairly large screwdriver you dont care much about put it againts the closest part of the yoke you can to the tailshaft housing and take the biggest hammer you have and knock the crap out of it...

Anything outside the black ring will defeat the purpose its a rubber dampener that allows the outer part to flex to absorb vibrations, same as a harmonic dampener wuld on a crankshaft!!

Thanks I'll try that tomorrow after work, I'm wondering if this happen because it got rear ended, when I bought the motor and Trans from the wrecking yard the guy told me that it was hit from behind, I also asked if he had the rear end he said he did but that it was damaged from the wreck .

Finally came off hitting the yoke, how can I tell if it was damaged? Will my yoke out of my 2000 4l60e work? Here are some pics.
