I have 04 reg cab silverado 4.8 with Headers, K&N intake X pipe Cutouts and pulley, oyea and tune. I want to put a cam what do I have change on the engine and what kind of cams are good??

 

automatic or manual transmission?

Automatic... yes am a newb you can't start knowing everything.

 

Alot of cam options depending on your goals and what your future mods include (ie higher stall torque converter, heads...FI ), as for what you should change, I'd say get upgraded valve springs (which ones depend on how wild you go on the cam), hardened pushrods, and a cam install gasket kit from someone like SDPC or Texas Speed, it includes all of the affected gaskets and a new crank bolt (the bolt is torque to yield and should not be reused). You'll need new coolant and I'd do an oil change after the swap also.
