Hi, I have a 05 Crew Cab 5.3 with a 14" Magnaflow. I was wondering if someone could help me out with finding a little different sound. I like not having the loudness while cruising but having it roar during acceleration. What is a good comparable muffler to the magnaflow without being any quieter. I was thinking Corsa(To Expensive), Borla, Hooker aerochamber, or Ravin... I just dont want it to be too loud for when I am traveling but no quieter than what I already have. No Flowmasters.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not getting a lot of feedback from other websites.

If i were you i would get another Magnaflow and put it behind or infront of the one you already have... Thats what i was goin to do until i got the STS...

Do you still have Cat Converters?

I had the 6" round 14" body magnaflow on mine with out cats and it sounded good!!
Now i have it with my turbo.. cruising it sounds good but right before i get into boost all you can hear is the wastegate... so its almost pointless..


The trucks ive heard with the Hooker Aerochamber sound mean!!!!!
might want to check on that one...

ive never ridden in one so i dont know what it sounds like inside..

 

I have 3" Race Bullets in front of my Magnaflow and it still has some good sound when cruising but when @ WOT it screams for sure. I also dont have any cats and I have long tubes.

Wait.......... Your in Livingston Parish and you dont have Glass Packs or a Flowmaster?


You can still put the bullet in line and it will help quiet it down some. If you want Im in BR all the time -. Next time Im down Ill come by and you can hear my truck to get an idea.



Also Quick Flow is a good sounding muffler and its made down by Pierre Part. It does have some drone but still sounds good

 

I dont want any quieter. I just want a different tone than my magnaflow. I think I am going to put a Ravin muffler on. It has a deep tone like I want.

 

Well I got the Ravin put on. It sounds good. A little louder than the magnaflow and still has that deeper tone I like.

 

I actually replaced my Magnaflow (just the muffler) with one of the new Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers. Sounds great and it's a straight through flow design. I dumped it just before the rear end. Just another option to look at for you.
