Default Need Cam Recommendation - 04 RCSB 4x4 5.3

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could recommend a cam and valvetrain package for my 04 Silvy 4x4, regular cab, short bed, 5.3. The truck is daily driven, and I plan to do longtubes, a CAI, and a tune.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a GM Hot Cam like available for the F-Bodies, but for a truck.

I don't have any plans for a convertor, so that must be taken into account.

Any tips I would love to hear them!

212/218 or 216/220 will probably be most people choice on here for that without wanting a converter. If you NEVER want a converter Id choose the 212/218

The 216/220 sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Any part numbers, or manufacturer? Will it require a valvespring swap? And how would the truck run untuned? I plan to do the mods in stages, cam first. The longtubes will come later. I'd like to wait and get it tuned with the longtubes, if possible.

Thanks,
Chris

Done. Full exhaust, cam, CAI, and the tune for the first stage.

Where is the best merchant to order the cam from? Still unsure whether or not the springs are good. I'm going to assume they aren't... from what I've seen just about every single F-Body cam requires the spring swap.

What are the cheapest, best fitting, ceramic coated longtubes available? The Pacesetters?

I vote PAC 1218 valve spring. Even though comp cam out with updated springs, I wouldnt run them.
