Default need advice on a smog legal cam

I've been searching threads for a cam that will pass california emissions with no luck. Any ideas? By the way I have a 2001 4.8 with I/E.

No cam other than stock is 'legal' in the pure sense of the word (you won't find a CARB number on a cam). However, with tuning, cams up to 220 intake and exhaust duration pass pretty easily, and cams up to 224 have also been known to pass, but that's pushing it.

From what I understand, most camshafts are cut with -3 to -4 degrees of overlap @ .05 to pass smog. Of course, this doesn't hold true to every application.

To give you an example, a TR224 114 has -4* of overlap @ .05 and is said to pass smog.

I've heard 224 is the line not to cross, but I believe the synergy motorsports 226 cams have passed smog.

You shouldn't have any problems passing with that cam.
