Default dies at 2k rpms

i uninstalled my intake, and just have my exhaust now.

but when im in gear and im just getting up to speed(not racing) i notice that it feels like it dies between 1500-2200 rpms...than atliek 2500rpms it pulls.

but its like a deadspot and almost feels like im braking at those RPMS. is it cuz i took the intake off? it was just a heat shield/filter, that replaced the stock airbox.

think ill put the intake back on and cut off/tape up the silencers on the stock intake.

My guess is a loose clamp or tube connector,,,might be sucking air after the MAF...make sure everything is snug together.
