Default Name that intake part game. :-)

I just wanted to get a better understanding of what all the crap on the intake manifold is and how the fuel system works

Here are some pictures. If you know what the numbered items are could you just describe it.

Thanks

On the fuel rail, the line closest to the front of the engine is the feed and the one to the back is the return right? Also, is the fuel pressure manifold referenced. I assume that is what that little vacuum tube running from the regulator is for.

Thanks

John

PS - If a screen comes up that says forbidden just put a space at the very end of the url in the address bar and hit enter. Don't ask me why it works but, it does.

1.Vacuum port for fuel regulator
2.Knock sensor connection
3.Evap service port
4.Map sensor
5.Vacuum booster hose for brakes
6.Evap solenoid

My spelling may be off but hey I know I suck.

I haven't checked your spelling, but #5 is where the PCV connects to the manifold. Follow the other end of that tube to the drivers rear valve cover for the PCV valve.

I kinda liked playing that game. Take a pic of a part, blow it up real big so it looks distorted, then ask people what part it is.

Are you waiting on GM gaskets? How about the head bolts? Man thats slow shipping, I am too impatient to wait that long.

Yep GM gaskets and bolts. Had to buy the whole damn head gasket kit. Should be here by Monday. The gaskets were on national backorder. Sometimes my luck sucks a green weinier.

Yeah, some of the things were kinda obvious but, I thought I'd put them on there in case someone else ever did a search on something like this.

I wasn't sure about the knock sensor deal though. I should just order a set of helms for my truck but, sometimes its just too easy to ask on here.

John

PS - If the fuel pressure is manifold referenced that means that it is lower when the manifold sees vacuum and raises at WOT(0 vacuum)?

This truck fuel system could very easily be adapted to work with an Aeromotive regulator and bigger fuel rails. The car setup is a pain in the a$$ with the return all the way back at the tank.

Thanks

John
