Question My setup

Well, here goes.....I was going to keep this a secret but was wanting to know what ya'll think. All of the bolt-ons in my sig plus some other stuff and this is on a 5.3 (2002) with 20,600 original miles. The other mods consist of my Dart 205 heads, LS6 intake, 3800-4200 verter, 4.10:1 or 4.56:1 gears with a Tru-Trac and the cam is 232/234 @ .050, .595/.598 on a 112sep. I would like get honest input, opinions, comments and so forth.......any and all input is welcome. BE HONEST!!!!!

Thanks gentlemen!!

James

first of all.. how in the HELL do you only have 20K on a '02 ... thats awesome man... I have always wondred how the dart heads would do with the LS6 intake. why the split cam? just curoius. and isnt it a TAD big on a n/a 5.3?? JMO though. you do have the stall to back it up. sounds like a mean *** setup if you can get it tuned right. what kind of exhaust are you putting behind it??
-are you planning on doing f/i or N20??

Well, I have a job that comes with a company truck(a very nice perk!!! ). I've had a company truck for the past 8yrs or so. I don't drive it much as you can tell. I bought it new in and it had like 14mi on it. Why the split cam.....I don't know to be honest with you....it's just what TSP recommended. Yes, it's probably too big for an N/A set-up but this is a weekend truck. I still want to drive it on the street but not on a daily basis. The stall I was thinking about getting is the Fuddle and I don't know if I want....well somewhere in the window of 3800-4200stall speed. I haven't made up my mind yet. My exhaust is the Dynatech header system with a 40/2 chamber Flowmaster dumped @ the cab. This is just a N/A set-up only.... Just kidding...it really is a N/A set-up!! I just wanted to get some opinions on this and wanted to push this combo as far as I can with weekend drivability!!!

Anyways thanks for your opinion!!!

James

It looks like you're planning on spinning that 5.3 up pretty fast with that setup! What about some upgrades to the valve train and rod bolts? And obviously you'll need a good tuner to get it streetable, but I do think it's possible. Other than that I can't wait to hear how she runs

sounds like a different but interesting combo for a 5.3. once that thing is tuned it should be a beast. i'm anxious to see what it puts down. good luck with the build, it should be a good one.

I say you mill a little off those heads to get the SCR up a bit. That's assuming you stick with the stock 5.3 short block. I don't think you'll have PTV clearance problems since the pistons are dished. I would think you'd need at least a 4000stall and I vote for the 4.56's, but it depends on what tire size you'll be running.

Oh yeah, how "built" is your 60E?

Flyer had a big hairy cam like that in his 5.3, you might want to PM him on the tuning details.
