Default My friends question

Well my friend just bought a 99 scsb with 99,000 miles and he wants some power out of the engine. The engine is still stock and he was thinking that a 6.0 would be alot better to put in. Anyone with a 4.8 with cams and any after market parts post so i can answer his question. I told him that a 6.0 would be better but to try the 4.8 first to see what he gets. Answer his question please.

def. go with 6.0

i am just now getting my boltons but im only doing them because they swap over to the 6.0L. full boltons are going to make a difference and will swap over if he decides he wants a 6.0 later on

every dime he spends to hop up that 4.8 could have been spent on a 6.0
with better results.
right now, i would start setting it up for a 6.0 swap.
cai, headers, gears, exhaust, trans work with servos, and a custom tuner.
then pick out a cam and fix up a set of heads for the 6.0 then make the swap.

i think there is a place in dfw where you can get a 6.0 with full accessories for around $1600. that would be the way i would go. or find a low mileage ls1, you can find good deals on them occasionally too.
