Default Which mufflers are which

When your in the market for mufflers and your lookin at oval and round mufflers, whats the rule of thumb to know which sizes are louder than others. Short fat is loud? Long and skinny are quieter? Whats the skinny on this folks

Round louder
shorter louder
Oval quieter
Longer quieter.

Chambered more restrictive
Straight through design more flow.

What kind of exhaust or sound are you looking for?

If you want a good sounding muffler with a good straight through design that is not restrictive and is easy on the bank look at dynomax bullets.

If your looking for quiet, rule out dynatechs.. The sound really good but a F^&*n loud. I had one on my truck, sinch have switched over to a huge diesel exhaust

Also i see alot of photos of guys trucks were the exhaust is either dumping out under the truck...which to me i would think that would make it louder inside the truck or they are putting tail pipes in front of the rear tire whick is closer to the cab therefore basically putting the sound of the exhaust right next to you and saying its to loud. I plan i putting the tail pipes stick down on an angle out the corners of the rear fender kinda to the sides alittle since i will be towing. What do ya think it will sound like? How bout you mangled you got experience with that type of muffler

Straight Through Design with louvers will be quieter and a little more throatier sound

Here's my clip - straight through all the way with resonators and louvered.
