I say LS1. Some vote HO 6.0 Cant lose either way. I like the aluminum block because i'm a sand box warrior.

I went with an LS1 for the weight savings.

Wouldnt you have to change the PCM and all the wiring to put a LS1/LS6 in a truck ?

Yeah it works well my only opt out from the ls1 is that its still geared to run like a car so it pulls more at the top end than it does at the bottom. since you have a truck the wieght diff is huge so you might want to switch the cam or something so you can get some low end torque back

Nope...I still have the truck intake and all of the accessories, so there was no wiring changes at all. All you're really doing is changing out the long block--the intake, accessories, exhaust, etc all bolt up to the aluminum block.

And, the 5.7 has PLENTY of torque down low. Compared to a 4.8 it feels like a big block! I put a TR224 cam in mine and it feels NICE!
