Default more boost

I would like to know how what would be a safe boost level more a stock bottom end. I am now running 9 pounds on a procharger P1SC kit. I had planned on finding some 6.0 heads and some 48lbs injectors and a smaller pulley and was wanting to run 15lbs of boost but would like to know if anyone is running this much boost on a stock bottom end with any problems. thank you.

depends on you idea of safe.

if you run race fuel and get the tune on i would say it is "safe". tuning is the key, watching for knock and leting off if you see/hear any and i think it would take it fine.

9psi could be unsafe without a good tune. You could probably go 12+ psi pretty safely with a good tune.

I'm running 11psi with a 3.6 pulley right now. I have a 3.4 pulley that's going on after it warms up. I can't find a belt small enough to get a smaller pulley than a 3.4.

The first thing you need to do before upping the boost is get a better flowing intercooler. The stock ATI unit is a serious restriction even at 9psi.

What Parish said..

The problem is not knowing what HP you'd be at with 15psi.. Since PSI is simply a measure of restriction you could be running way less or way more HP than someone else with the same PSI..

Tunning is going to be critical IMO and I doubt you can do it without race gas or methanol.

Not saying you can't but I wouldn't mix in the word safe. Hehehe

Keep us posted man. We need more high HP ATI guys in here besides Black Blown 02 and Greentahoe
