Mild rebuild finalized. Anything I should change?
#1
Hey guys, I'm in the process of buying all the parts and I think I've got it all down pat to get what I am looking for out of my truck. Unfortunately a 6.0L swap is out of the question for now, so I settled on rebuilding the 5.3L I have. However I'd be open to suggestions, opinions and otherwise. I'm far from the most experienced engine builder--In fact, this will be my first one I don't rebuild with my pops, so it should be ... interesting. So input is appreciated.
Aside from new head studs, gaskets, bearings, oil pump, etc. I have:
- New SealedPower pistons.
- New wrist pins.
- TB Stall.
- LS6 springs.
- 212/218 114lsa Lunati cam.
It'll have a stock intake and fuel system. 4.88's are going in by Spring. I assume I won't need anything more than that, however is there anything else I can do to benefit the stall/cam combo? Is the cost of having headwork done going to benefit me any? I already have a tune and a beefed 4L65e w/ shift kit, servos, heavy clutch bands, hardened planetary, etc.
Thanks !
