i took the screen of mine the day after i bought it. It felt like it was running better to me. When i got my first dyno all i had was a descreened MAF and a K&N drop in and pulled 259rwhp and 304rwtq. And the A/F ratio stayed @ 12.5. IMO i think it adds about 100cfm to the flow through the MAF. Its been a couple years and i dyno a little more now, but the descreened MAF is working like a champ. I wonder if Parish, BigTex, and all the other 12sec or better guys take theres out.

Pretty much is it's up to you. It didn't bother my truck and I know a bunch of guys that do that, even with the f-body's. It may not help it, but it won't hurt it either. IMO it does help some with increased air getting to the throttle body! Your call man!

leave the MAF screen in. i took mine out. not really worth it. it runs the same. the honeycomb screen straightens out the turbulent air. leave it in.

Like everyone has said!!!! Leave it in!!! That MAF is CALIBRATED for the GM/Sec flow WITH the screen in there. If you take it out, you change the flow characteristics. You can do what you wish. But the vast majority of the people on this board know that it is a waste of time and effort.
