Default lt's and low end loss

Hey guys, I just put some lt headers on my truck and seem to have lost a bit of low end power. I know that it was supposed to gain high end, but didn't know I'd lose so much low end. Used to have to be careful taking off, so I didn't spin tires, but now it can't when I mash it.

Did you re-tune after the header install?

somethings wrong? you should gain a good amount of torque with LTs. I felt a difference everywhere right after my install.

Ditto
My money is on "NO"

LTs will gain a noticeable amount down low.

I felt I had a little loss from a stop also with the longtubes. Once rolling, it moves out, but it did move my power band up a little. In the upper rpms, it pulls way harder than before. I always thought it was because I have the loudmouth muffler on there, going to a magnaflow soon to try to get back a little low end and also to quiet it down.

headers can be tuned based on the length of the collectors. Longer or shorter makes a difference, make a mark lenghtwise on the collectors with a crayon or grease marker and take it on a hard run then check the mark. Where ever the mark burns down to is where you want to cut the collectors at. Here is a link to a discussion on this:

You won't necessarily gain low end. In fact you'll probably lose quite a bit of low end if you're running a 4.8 or relatively stock 5.3L.

The problem is that you probably went with pacesetters which have 1 3/4" primaries which are great for modified trucks, but terrible for stock truck which see very little top end. You probably gained quite a bit up top, but you almost for sure will lose low end.
