Default LT1 or LS1 fans

Can someone explain to me what setup should be used if I got the fans? Should I run them always on w/ ign., or one off, one on....Whats the best way to run em that frees up the most horsepower? And i'm a complete retard when it comes to wiring, so.......

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I just setup a toggle switch inside the cab. 90% of the time I don't even turn them on. The only time I need them is if i am in heavy stop and go traffic.

Just kidding. I've ran my LT1 fans several ways. One on with key, one on with key and seperate switch. Both on. Both off. Whatever.

With my thermostat and the cold weather, I really dont have to run them at all unless I'm sitting in traffic for over 10 minutes. Once I get moving again, temps go back down. My truck runs about 170 all the time. In the summer, I needed both on to keep it about 180 with the AC running. Without AC in the summer, I could easily get by with one.
