Default LSX Intake Question

Ok guys, this is probably a stupid question... but I gotta ask it.

Can a LSX intake fit on a 5.3??? I know it fits on a 6.0, but I was curious as to if it would fit onto a 5.3.

Yes, it'll fit on the 5.3L also. The intakes between the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 are the same minus some small differences between years. The 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, LS1, LS6, LSX will all physically bolt up. It will take some work to put a LSX(car) based intake on a truck though.

It's the new 3 piece composite intake from F.A.S.T.

It's for the cars but, with a little work it shouldn't be any harder to fit on than the LS6 intake.

Check out the Fbody sections on Thunder Racing or Tbyrnes websites. I'm pretty sure they have pictures. Or do a search in the external engine section here, it'll probably look like a yahoo search that comes up with a million hits.

Maybe somebody who has put one on will chime in.

Search for a post in here from Speartech. They had one on a shop motor and actually make a bracket to relocate the idler pulley so the belt will pass the TB on a LS6 intake.

this is what i did tonight

i gives enough room to come off the stock intake with a straigh 3 inch pipe. im positive that with the lower intake of the lsx or ls1 it could fit the throttle body. all you need is a longer bolt.

About $1000 and a good tool set to make it fit, about another $1000 in engine mods to make it worthwhile.I think you can find a lot more cost effective mods.
