They were installed to comps EXACT specs

 

any spring can break. some people just have bad luck. if you have the money for the pacs get them if not the ls6 springs will be just fine. I gotta used set and ran them on my comp 212 218 spinning 6400 and with a tr224 spinning to 6800, it seen that quite a damn bit, now they are my buddies truck with the same 212 218 cam for the last 2 1/2 years

 

I ran ls6 springs with a 580 lift cam for a very long time. If ur short on cash go with the ls6 springs.

 

I wouldn't hesitate to use the LS6 springs with that cam, even if I had the money for a stiffer aftermarket spring that would put more stress on my valvetrain and more pressure on the plungers of my lifters. I'm running LS6's now and will be using them in my LQ9 with a Vinci Trucker cam. I asked Roger Vinci for his input on my spring choice and even he said I would be fine

i would with PAC ..150shipped from SDPC. . they will hold -.600 lift

 

Save up your beans and get PAC 1518s. Those are the best beehive springs you can buy. They are very reasonably priced for what you get and are good to .650 lift. I wish I went with those instead of the 1218s with their .600" max lift. Basically all the new cams out today have near or over .600 lift which I would not feel safe pushing the 1218s with. I wouldn't even consider the LS6 springs, and that's just my opinion. They're good for a stock ls6 cam and that's it in my book.

 

I have exactly the same cam with yellow springs, no need to get more expensive ones. Heck, that cam only has .522/.529 of lift unless it's the highlift version, and even that one is ok for yellow springs.
