Default LS6 springs

getting ready to order my comp 212/218 here in a week or so. Should i just get LS6 springs or go with Pac springs? i don't plan on upgrading cams in the future thats for sure. People recommend the LS6 springs but i hear some say they won't hold up down the road??? I like how the ls6 springs are cheap! But they will be ok or should i go with PAC springs for extra security?

spend the extra cash and get the PAC's IMO. Those LS6 springs are not made for the ramp rate's of today's cam's. aftermarket cam with a stock spring? I wouldnt do it. I would hate to drop a valve and possibly scrap a motor because I didnt spend the extra 75$

Just go with the yellow ls6 spring. I and many others have ran them with that particular cam for many hard miles

spend the extra $ and get the PAC's scoggin dickey's has them I believe...
no problems with the new 918's either....as long as you dont run a .600 lift cam with them you cant push a spring to the limits and expect it to hold

If your going to build something do it right, dont half *** it. why try to just slide by when you can do it right for just a few more dollars? Do it right the first time and you wont have to worry about it in 5k miles when the part/parts are worn out due to overworking them. How many times do you see LS6 springs break 10-15K miles down the road....I see it alot

and since when do YOU know everything? I never said I did. im assuming your talking about me, since im the only other guy that has posted in this thread.

I've never heard of an ls6 spring breaking with that cam. I've never heard of an ls6 spring breaking period...and no the new comp spring are not ok. They are having troubles with. A LOT that's why they want mine to investigate what's happening. I'm not the only one that's had trouble.

In conclusion, if you have the money go with the pac's. If you're on a tight budget the ls6 springs will be just fine

I see what your saying, however I have seen a couple of threads on here even that guy's have broke the LS6 yellows. They seem to hold well but I would not run them in anything I own. I know Zippy has pushed them to the limit (as far as lift goes) and hasnt broke one yet to my knowledge. But they just were not meant for aftermarket cams. The new'er 918's are going to be under a magnifying glass due to previous problems we all know that. but when broke in properly and not pushed to the absolute limit they should be good. You have a bad taste in your mouth I understand Dozer! I have been there as well. it sucks to have a somewhat expensive part fail. It has cost me before too

Be careful what you say....... Springs can break regardless of where they come from.

Also dan, did you ever check your installed height? Did you have enough seat pressure? I remember your thread about the broken 918 but I don't recall you ever answering those questions.
