Default ls1m or autotap for my logging needs?

I just picked up a cheap Palm, and both of these data logging programs will work on it. They both seem to do basically the same thing, and are priced the same. I see alot of add on features for Atap. If I went with Atap, what add ons would I want to purchase and why? Ls1m seems like a nice logging program to have, so guys who have either one let me know how you like each. Thanks

Are you talking about LS1SCAN? If so I would defintly go with autotap even though LS1SCAN is free. Ive heard that EFILIVE is the best though!

I have used autotap on several occasions, it is horrible! The communaction rate is sooooooo slow & the values are not correct, for instance delivered torque is way off.....

Since you want to log on a Palm, you have several choices. The problems with Atap is it runs 10 frames per sec. Some of the pids you want to monitor only report 1 or 2 frames/sec. If you are monitoring several items, the real time logging misses a lot of info. I am not sure if EFILive has a palm version, but the latest editions log at 40 frames/sec and would be a much better value. Also, full featured logging software like Ease and AutoIngenuity have always logged at 40/sec and have Palm version. Check www.obd2.com and ebay for price and availabiltiy.

I have the LS1M, and it seems to log pretty well for a reasonably priced unit. With the PalmIII it comes with it's a little hard to see the characters. It would be LOTS better with a color Palm. I don't know if you can get it to graph, but with the simpler Palm you have to "page" through the rpm range of the period logged.
