Reason I asked is cause I saw on the website that they had released the 1.3 and claim that it worked on the Hummer's but they were waiting more results for the trucks.

I've been using it in a Beta form for a while now. You have to connect directly to the PCM instead of under the dash. I tried their newest version with the under dash connection, and it crashed my PCM. I'm staying with the direct PCM connect method until I KNOW the result is good. Otherwise it works just fine.

Same here, been using it for a few weeks now. It only takes an extra 10min or so to do it under the hood. Real simple.

Yes, you have to buy a bench cable from SpearTech. The nice part is, I can use the bench cable to read other PCM's I have, and help friends with mail order tuning. It has many good uses for $125

So .. are you telling me that this cable doesn't go throught he licensing part that the LS1Edit cable has? You just buy the cable and as long as your software can read it .. you can program it???

No. The extra cable has one end that screws into the PCM, one connector that is like the OBD2 connector under the dash, and a pair of alligator clips to hook up the battery. Basically, you connect your existing LS1 edit cable up to the new cable to connect. You need both. The new cable takes the internal truck systems out of the way and allows LS1 edit direct access to the PCM.

Also, I do believe w/ LS1 Edit, you can read any PCM your set-up for, you can only burn a certain amount you paid for. I can read multiple PCM's, just not burn multiple PCM's.

The reason I like it is, I have a 2nd PCM for the vette. The original Mallett PCM is up for safe storage. I LS1 Edit the 2nd PCM. I could read the original PCM from the car, out of the car, just for referance (To see what Mallett did, and adjust my new PCM accordingly). I can also read friends cars to see differnaces in the programings. Of course, I only use their files to look at, I only modify my files. Without the speartech cable, I would have to put the PCM back in the Vette to read it, a real pain.
