The truck manifolds outflow the LS6 intake.period.

The only reason i would see putting an LS1 intake on a truck is to upgrade injectors etc. It wouldnt ruin it, but you wouldnt see any benefits from a stock motor for switchin to a LS1 intake.

have you ever seen a flow chart? tell me you would rather spin to 7000 rpm with the truck intake than with the LS6 intake...

We all have determined that the LS6 intake will make a huge difference from down low to past red line. Two or three guys on here have done this mod and gained considerably. Do a search and you can find this info. I'm doing this mod as we speak.

I wouldn't even waste the money on it. The truck intake is very good to about 6000 RPM. If you aren't at least doing a cam I don't think you will see any gain in HP and you will lose a decent amount of low end torque. Peak #'s aren't everything. Take that money you would have spent on the intake and the MISC stuff to put it on (it won't clear the truck waterpump) and spend it on a good dyno tune and/or some better intake and exhaust components. You will be infinitely happier

Truck water pump and LS1 intake:

It WILL fit with very minor clearencing of the TB or the water pump.

Didn't say it couldn't be done, there are a dozen or more ways to do it. Just said it doesn't clear the truck water pump without modiifcations of some kind. Not everyone wants to grind down their parts to make them fit. That is also a DBW throttle body, only one I ever did was cable actuated and it would have required alot of grinding. When we did the swap for a 55 Chevy with an LQ4 W/ LS6 intake we bought a car pump and had spacers made to line up the accessories and a new tensior to clear the car pump. Looks clean as hell. it can definately be done though. I just don't think it is worth the effort for gains Vs cost unless you just like the look of the LS6 intake, I think a tune will net you more.
