Default LS1 Fans from wrecking yard

I am planning to do the LS1 fan swap soon and I have called around to a couple of local yards to see what they had. One had LS1 fans for $250.00 and another yard had em for $100.00.

My question is in regards to what exactly am I looking for. I know I need the case(shroud), fans, and motor w/ wires. Is there anything else I should look out for? How about condition, should I look for something in particular?

I just want to make sure I am buying the complete package.

Also, I will be fabing up a custum mounting braket(s) (close friend has sheet metal shop), so if anyone wants something along those lines I may be able to work something out. I am thinking something in brushed aluminum or anodized, etc.

Thanks

I'd be really interested if you fabbed up some mounting brackets. I'm about to do the e-fans myself. I see them on E-bay al the time for 100$. YOu might wanna check there.

qwank:
when you say no harneess, does that mean you had no wires coming off off the motor? I plan on getting a harness similar to the nelson to run off the PCM. So I suppose that I dont need a harness anyways.

35!!! NICE. Where are you located? Im in SoCal, so i expect to pay a premium.

Thanks

You should not pay more than $100 for these fans. They are on Ebay all the time.

Post pics of your brackets. I just put some foam between the edges of the fans and the radiator and some appropriatly bent mending brackets from the hardware store.
