Default LS1 fan help!!!

ok so i am trying to hook up my LS1 fans to my truck. the main question is, wont the fans still work without me having an AC system?

i have the blue wire hooked up to pin 42 on the blue side and the wire for the switch to run them manually wired up (i am using Ron's fan harness) but i turned the AC controls on to find a the hot wire but im not getting one.

so can i still run my fans without having an AC system or do i have to use my fans manually til i can get the AC system??
