Default Water pump gasket question

I am installing a cam into my 2004 silverado with a 4.8 when all the parts come in. I was thinking about getting this cam install gasket kit: http://www.sdparts.com/product/KITSD...903LS1LS6.aspx

Are all the gaskets the same for this ls1 and my ls-based 4.8? even the water pump?

Thanks a ton!

I just did a cam in my 2001 with a 4.8. Those water pump gaskets from your link look identical to mine. But the valley cover (below the intake manifold) doesnt need to come off. I think there is a gasket for it pictured in that kit. Just tryin to save you needless work.

Just reuse the gaskets. Damn near every gasket on these new engines are reusable. I reused all my gaskets including my crank seal on my last cam install. Never leaked a drop. Gasket technology has come a long ways in the last 10 years. About the only gasket I wouldn't reuse on one of these new motors would be a head gasket.

Unless you have a substantial amount of miles on the motor. These water pump gaskets are also FAMOUS for leaking on high mileage motors. They are 2.50 per gasket, why not have the piece of mind and replace them?

I had a bunch of miles on my engine when I swapped the cam so I went ahead and replaced the valve cover seals, water pump gaskets and t-chain cover gasket. The t-chain cover gasket fell apart when I took the cover off so it needed replaced regardless. Probably would have been fine with the old valve cover seals, but I wanted to replace them.

only reason i replaced my water pump gasket is because it was fucked from the beginning and leaking on the backside which is fairly common.

Other than that i reused every gasket on my 2000 4.8 with 100K and have had no problems at all.

On the front seal i did use some anerobic (think it was) gasket **** just to make sure it'd seal correctly though.

Also, I ordered the mls head gaskets from thuder racing and now I have a leaky head. Ive tried loosening and re-tourqing them 5 times and it is still seeping a little. Im going to put a little bit of bars leak in and see if that does the trick. But what im getting at is that most people are recommending getting stock head gaskets rather than trying to upgrade, like i did, and actually causing more of a headache.
