Default ls1 cam in 5.3

hey everyone im new here i got an 05 z71 with the L33 motor in it k&n CAI dumped flowmaster 40 and i was wondering if anyone has heard about putting a stock ls1 cam in the 5.3?

my friend at work did it, it was a 2000 ecsb 5.3 and the cam lobes and lifters wiped out at about 300k, he put an ls1 cam out of a 02 camaro ss, cause it was cheap, it cut the nuts off, wont even spin a tire now, but he got 14.8mpg towing his drag car last weekend.

imo i would not do it, his truck doesnt have any bottom end now.

custom PCM tune, long tube headers, gears, built tranny, cam (aftermarket, like a 220ish duration, .550 or larger lift), stall converter, power adders (nitrous, turbo, supercharger)

or a motor swap

there's tons of written information on this site. Depends on how far you want to take it. Intake, exhaust, cam, etc.
