Going na, i think it would be near impossible with the power lost threw the tranny.
with a power adder its easily do able. I bet low 400rwhp is possible with a cam/head combo with full bolt ons.

just my opinion

I think you can do it easily all motor but youd have to upgrade all internal engine parts. Pistons, rods, cam, heads i bet you could do it. Especially with a bopsted CR from the heads and pistons

Getting that to the ground would be on the edge or just below getting more cubes by doing an all bore or something. A friend had just over 420, I believe, to the ground in his f-body with all the bolt on's and a head and cam package with stock rotating assembly.

Well I could run my heads off the 5.3 that I have now and tweak the cam and p/p the 5.3 heads. Does anyone have numbers of what that might bring in hp. Just looking at a cost effective way of making power on motor.

this has to be streetable, becasue i drive 20 miles to work and back and will probably start pulling a 21 foot pontoon boat, so the cam can't be that aggressive.

If it is a matter of cost I would look at a 6.0 and a nice cam. 450rwhp in a NA LS1 is going to be tough. Id like to know of a cheap way to get there too. I'll be very pleased to hit that with a Vortech at 11#, alot of bolt ons, and a good blower cam.

yeah, I would probably be please with just getting around 400 to the rear wheels, but then you can always spray. Just want something a little different in the truckl but work great, and I would loose some weight. I've decided against a 6.0 unless one comes to me really cheap, then on anotehr thought????
