There is a post on the other board right now in the TX section about a head/ cam M6 car making 465 on motor 601 on spray. This is also on a dyno know to be about 20HP low from others around town.

CST, don't rule out the 5.3 to 5.7 bore option on your block. It is possible and somewhat cost effective if you have time and are savvy with Ebay and the classified ads here.
I know, I know, EVERYONE says go 6.0L for the cubes. Well, I agree this is a better starting point for big inch motors but the "sleeper" deals on 6.0L engines are harder to come by these days. I found my 5.3L long block donor for $300 on Ebay. Bore job, Eagle 383 kit, and 241 p/p heads later I have a brand new engine for around $3k. And this is before selling off the heads from the donor and parts from the original 4.8L long block. Funny thing is I will get twice the cash by parting out the long block versus selling whole. Hmmmmmmmm.
Anyway, good luck deciding! You need any advice or pics, let me know. BTW, I can't tell you how much the folks here help out, both car and truck!

Yeah I really just want to get a ls1 long block and keep my 5.3 as a spare.
