Are the LS based motors in the '99+ trucks as reliable as F-bodies/Vettes?

What parts are the same and what parts are different in the engines?
The reason I am asking is that I had an '01 C5 with the LS1 up until last week. I put 41,000 of the most brutal miles possible on that engine with track days, autocrossing, roadracing, drag racing, triple digit highway runs and it kept coming back for more. The engine seemed stronger when I sold it than when it was new. 'Add oil and go' was my motto. I would sit near redline (6000rpm) for upwards of 30 minutes at a time while on various roadcourses in the area. Oil temp. would soar close to and above 300F. It was incredible.
So, I'm wondering if I use Mobil 1 and a good filter in my '04 Silverado, could my 5.3L theoretically handle a similar amount of abuse? Of course, I will not subject it to the torture I did my Vette, but I'm just wondering if I can cruise down the highway at 3,000rpm all day long or floor the truck frequently to redline and not have any significant deterioration in reliability?

Theoreticly, sure it can handle it. But your rev limit is 5600 unless you tune it. Tranny will go first. Like I said in the other thread, I towed in the summer here in Texas for two years with my truck, probably 15k towing miles. My traveltrailer was over 6000#'s and I towed in third which kept the RPM's at 3200 most of the time. Never a reliability problem with 50k on this motor (first one died of an overdose of n20). That motor never towed though. It was the second one that towed. Mobil1 and A/C Delco (OEM) filter since day one on the new motor.

Forgot to help on the first question. Truck engines vs 5.7 LS1.
Iron block - Alum block
different heads on all truck engines
different bore
5.3 and 5.7 crank is the same size, but the 5.7 crank has been drilled to make it lighter
Oil porting same as LS1, not LS6
Accesories / sensors
intake
A couple of mounting points for accesories
pulley

Ive been abusing my truck for 75000 miles now.... I floor it at least 10 times a day, pulling to 6000 everytime.... if not more.... i sometimes manually shift from 3 into 2nd.... I run it up to 110 at least twice a week.... soemtimes 115-120...... Havent had a problem yet.... We go to the dragstrip all the time.... Street Race all the time......Works perfect

Thanks, guys. So, all the motors are six-bolt mains and most similar internals with maybe the pistons and heads being different? Sounds like the 4.8/5.3/6.0 family of truck engines is pretty tough too. That is good to hear!
