LQ9 with LS1 heads how would it work?
Just like the tittle says! How would LS1 heads work on an LQ9? Im asking that because i can get the LS1 heads cheap and if i do get the LS1 heads they are already ported and polished?

Hell I would go with it you would be raising your compression a bit probley close to 11, but I am just estimating. I would really for it. You have a RC and if you dont tow that much I think it would be great.

The reason im saying that how would LS1 heads will work on an LQ9 is because i dont have the 6.0 heads i bought the 6.0 but the heads were missing. Thats why im asking that how would the ls1/ ls6 heads work on my LQ9!

They worked fine on my 5.3L. I did 345rwhp N/A with a jacked up stall converter. Of course my heads are welded up and milled so it bumped my CR from 10:1 to 10.8:1

I think that the compression would bump up quite a bit, but with good fuel, the right amount of timing, and keeping the temps down, they should work. If you check around, you can find some clean 317 casting heads for $300 or less though...there's usually a set or two on ebay.
