The 5.3 was tuned and I got an average of 16 mpg. That's with a 3000 converter and 4.56 gears.

Yup. The map mods you don't have to do I just thought it was easier than moving everything around.

Highway miles or city? Lookin to get that similar cam in my Yukon, but I need closer to stock mileage (18-20). I was told even with a cam, MPG won't be hurt a WHOLE lot if it's tuned properly... not sure how true that is, but that's what I've heard..

Most of the driving I do I don't go over 60mph. The fuel mileage that I was getting is actual mileage (miles traveled vs. gals. consumed) not on the display, work trucks don't have that. LOL I would consider a little smaller cam 212/218 if your worried about mileage. Get a tight converter and lock it through tuning as soon as practical. Your truck is a lot heavier than mine I wouldn't recommend a 224 cam.

Results? Anything? I'm dying over here, I keep looking at this thread to see what kind of numbers you're getting or to see if you like the results. I'd like to know because out of all the bolt on combos this one seems to have the geatest results for the least amount invested. Thanks for all of the info so far, I keep watching the videos, they're awesome!!!!

Lastly why do you have a pino hitch on the truck? (sp? for the trailer hitch that looks like a doughnut) Do you tow a lot with the truck?
Thanks!
