Is that not swappable from my 5.3l? (sorry if that's a dumb question).

it is 100% exchangeable

what are you doing with your old motor though?

it's be nice to have that one there for storage, you will want to keep it as sealed up as possible

oh yeah since no one else has said it

i would

swap your oil pump t-chain and cam gear from your 5.3

the ones on that lq4 look well used

while you ahve the pump off you can check and see if your block is tapped for a damper i would buy one if it is

What is that and what should I look for? This is all stuff I'm learning in the process lol.

1slow01z71 would probably recomend you change out your oil pump and t-chain too after my cam swap

KB make sure you clean the oil pump good when you swap it over, throw an LS2 chain on there for good measure so when you do, do a cam swap you dont ahve to pull the oil pump in the truck to put the t-chain on.
