Default lQ4 part two....

Heres what I got going on, New bearings, new rings, new hone, stock bore, using a set of heads casting number 799,LS-7 lifters,TSP ported oil pump,LS-2 timing chain and sprockets,TSP push rods,Comp 228R cam with .588 lift and a 110LSA,Trail blazer SS intake,Generic cold air intake, flowing out into pacesetter long tubes into a spintech with three inch single pipe from the Y-pipe to the tail pipe.

ANY IDEA OF A HP RATING??? I would guess 425 hp??????

Also have a 150 shot of NX to go on top but I'm looking for motor only right now.

2004 LQ4 6.0

I think alot of people would agree that the ported oil pump aint really worth the extra coin, i would probly just get a standard pump or a high volume and use the extra cash somewhere else.

Thats fine, i mean your not gonna lose anything by using that pump except the wallet being alittle lighter.. i would say your target hp goal will be pretty close to what it puts out. The nitrous will be a different animal.. what type of driving will you be doing mostly?

I'll be conservative and say 405. It should be a strong setup.

400 to the rear would be stout, plus the NX kit should be nuts, thinking I'm gonna get some better tires on my 20's now...

Ok, im not saying you will have problems with the stock pistons and rings, but everytime you hit the giggle gas it would always be in the back of my head that i could destroy a piston. You can destroy any piston or melt any ring if you try hard enough but the oem stuff would deff be the easiest.. it it was my build i would go with quality forged pieces so it would be one less thing i had to worry about everytime i sprayed. Alot of people have abused the stock stuff pretty bad and it lasted a long time.. but then youalways have the few that crumble or melt and cause ALOT of damage.. the really important factor will be your tune.
