I am looking at the 080, too. I am very interested to see how you like it.

For pulling tq NA I would go with a custom 210/216, 112 or 212/218, 112, Id never go 114+ lsa in a NA rig that heavy. Jmo.

in for the results as well!
heres a link to said article. the torque curve on test o looks like a good choice for towing, the cam seems very similar to the vinci 043, which isn't far from the 080. i wonder how much of a difference not having the l92 heads and intake will make.

Should net stronger low and mid range numbers. Rectagular port heads are useless on this small of displacement with towing in mind.

When doing the spring swap, what tool are you guys using will the heads are still on and the motor is still in the truck?

Also at 100K are you guys doing valve seals? I dont burn any oil.

I'd just replace the valve seals anyway. You are in there, they are cheap and will guarantee another 200,000+ miles before they start leaking.

If the heads are still on the engine, in the truck. Most put some rope in through the spark plug hole to fill in the empty space, so you don't drop the valve too low.

comp cams dual spring tool
Lingenfelter dual spring tool . . .

. . . or whoever decided to copy it . . . Proform Parts 67605

Depending on what valve springs you get, the dual spring kit comes with new valve seals.
The stock valve seals can be replaced at the same time when the springs are swapped.
