Low oil pressure. 5.3 help?

actually all you have to do is plug it in to a computer and the it will tell you actual oil pressure read by the pcm, not what the gauge is showing, if you have a buddy at a shop that can do that for you then it could save you some headache.

Sometimes the sender will go out. That will cause the scan tool to read the goofy number also. Do you hear noisy lifters or any other indication of low oil pressure? I would get another pressure sender if a scan tool reads the same as the cluster.

well the not really noisier lifters, its a tid bit louder in the engine bay here lately. but the cam made it noisier too when it got popped in. it is a little noisier tho for sure

FWIW The ignition switches on some trucks are known to go bad and will make the cluster do funny things sometimes. Good luck on the diagnostics.
