i got a 2005 chevy 5.3 with the hop ups listed below. its been fine. now the past 2 days it has had real low oil pressure when it heats up like 20. But when it is cold and i just start it. it has pretty close to normal pressure. the gauge goes up and down and wont really stay still at all. i have no clue what it is and am worried sick. it only has 49 thousand miles on it. nitrous has been on for 15 thousand. could it be the oil pump or something in that nature. it has done stuff like this before but not never this bad, you could barely tell it before. it seems to be almost normal when cold, then when it heats up it has low oil pressure around 20 25 at idle and its uaually above 40 or right at it. please help me out. thanks

my 04 tahoe did this, except it would go down to 0, and i thought oh crap there goes the engine and it turned out to be a bad cluster. im pretty sure these have a low oil pressure alert that would ding at you and trigger a light on the dash, if it hasnt done any of that its probably just the cluster, because the computer is still seeing that the sensor has pressure. But like trever said double check before heading out on any long trips. i guess you could always consider going to a 20-50w.

yeah i put the cluster in about 2 years ago and the cam two summers ago. it may be the cluster doin that because the temp guage didnt work last nite but today it is working. and ive noticed the the back lights in them on that side are really dim compared to the other ones. and no codes or warnings have popped up. it has plent of oil. and still drives fine, just got back from going uptown and ended up spraying it and it felt better than ever, even with the bottle freezing cold. but i dont know its headed to the chevy dealer where it still has a bit of warranty left on it i guess ha lol thanks guys. let me know if yall think anything else.

and also the volt gauge is goin a little nuts too, i just put a damn 150 dollar optima battery on there because the other stock one just about had it, and i got a mean system bumpin off the battery and electric fans stock, and the underdrive pulleys. when i put the pulleys on the charge on the gauge was alot lower like 12 13, lower than stock. but its fine. the truck has done this stuff before but not this bad. its prolly on its period or goin through menopause or sum **** i dont know.

heavy oil is thicker, so it would actually make your pressure go up a little if you were actually having low pressure problems, its kind of a crutch, but it will get you a little more life. but if its the cluster stick with your 10-30 mobil
