he talking about the low oil light, not the change oil light.

Exactly...
And I would be willing to bet that the change oil light was probably not reset correctly when oil was changed. Shops don't always do it and of course, we forget sometimes as well, if not to do it, how to do it...

i dont go by the change oil light...when i get to 3000-3500 miles i change it no matter what the computer says.
