Default ls1 e fans

Ok i dont want to beat a dead horse and all but i have one quick question or two. Everyone is saying that you have to have a custom tune if u use these ls1 fans with the nelson wiring harness. Now i have a predator and it says that it can use it to turn the fans on and off. Now is this true and has anyone done it before. o yeah and where is the cheapest place to get LS1 fans and when you are done can u put the shroud back on or do u have to leave it off. thanks for the help.

i saw someone post the same question b4. the answer was that the option for fans on/off on that handheld is for vehicles w/ factory e-fans. It is worth a shot though. Set it to on, and then see if there is a potential difference between pins 55 and 56 (i think?) on ur pcm. someone else will probably fix the numbers.

Check to see if pin 42 grounds when you turn the fans "on"

Another question, will the Predator turn the fans on, or can you actually program the tune to turn the fans on at a set temp?? Guess what Im saying is, can you tune for fans, or is it just a diagnostic check?

Pedator doesn't give you the option to activate electric fans on the trucks, that only applies to the cars... I had one, I looked.

I'm sure he could if you specified that you wanted it like that. ... but then again, you may need the same type controller he has.

no you dont need a harness for the fans. as long as you have the plugs for the fans youll be fine. Flexalite is the way to go. they have two. one for 80 and other is like 110. i bought the 80 one and installed it in a few rides and havent had any issues in almost 2 yrs now
